Do you think a gro clock would help us?

My almost 3 year old won't go to sleep in his own bed or bedroom.

Ever since he learnt to climb out of his cot he won't self settle, every night we get him to sleep on our bed then transfer him into his own bed in his room. Then inevitably he gets up during the night and climbs into bed with us for the rest of the night.

I wondered if anyone had had any luck with a gro clock? I think they're for children who get up too early aren't they?

Ds doesn't get up early he just wants to sleep next to us.

Is he still in cotbed or normal bed?

You can just use the rule that if the clock is blue he needs to be in his bed. If it's orange he can come out. So that includes bedtime and through the night.

But you'll still have to train him to stay put, by putting him back and reinforcing blue = bed

Cotbed but converted into toddler bed, so no bars up.

It did us

We got one for dd's 4th birthday as she kept getting up when it was light outside and the clocks were about to go forward

She quickly learned that she had to stay in bed (apart from toilet) when it's blue, and only get up when the sun comes up. We told her she could read her book she in bed if she can't sleep, but she cannot come out of her room.

She's 5 now and still abides by the clock. We've had to put up high though, as she can unlock the "child" lock on it and make the sun come up earlier

Interesting Queen

My 5 year old dd is still in a toddler bed. Dh refuses to get her a single bed as she has "plenty of room and it should do till she's around 7" he can be a bit tight Grin

3 year old Ds is in a cot bed with one side taken off so he can get in and out as he pleases. He's only been out of his cot for about a month though

Thanks queen we did consider that he might sleep better in a proper bed.

We have got his single bed ready but not yet built and need to get a mattress.

It's worth a try but you will need to be prepared to enforce it by taking her back if the sun isn't on. Our little boy recently worked out how to make the sun come on before time but we rumbled him. You can lock the keys if need-be.
