Baby sleeping a long time

So my 9 month old baby has a bath at 6:45/7:00ish and then has story time then bottle then bed, she litrally can't keep her eyes open past 7:30 and gets very very windgy and upset if we keep her up longer. She will fall asleep at 7:30ish every night without fail no matter where we are. She then wakes up between 2-4 for a bottle and a nappy change and then doesn't wake again until 8:00am. She also has a nap at 12:30ish for anything between 30-60 mins and then another nap at 4 for half an hour. I am worried she sleeps too much and if there is anything I should be worried about. She has more or less been in this routine since she was 4 months old. We went to Cuba when she was 6 months old and thought the time difference may change the routine but she adapted automatically when we got there and when we got back.

Sounds about right. OMG to have a baby that actually goes to sleep on a night time and can adapt.

Mine are big sleepers too.
DD is nearly 5 and sleeps 12 hours a night plus a nap at kindergarten.

As long as she is busy and alert the rest of the time I really woukdn't worry

My lo is a big sleeper. I used to perry but now I just enjoy it!

Worry not perry!

Sounds perfectly normal to me. It’s a really good sleep pattern, but not excessive amounts or anything I’d say.

For comparison- my DS is 10 months. Is the exact same bed is no later that 7.30 or he gets unsettled. He then wakes up between 7/7.30 with one night feed (on a good standard night) at 4/5am. But he naps for about 45mins-1 hour in the morning and 11/2 hours on the afternoon.

My hairdressers son used to sleep 12 hours a night and then a mammoth 4 hour nap in the day. She had him checked with GP/paediatricians but he just loved his sleep 😂

That's made me feel a lot better. Must just have a lazy baby. I do love it! She's so good through the day too.. feel like im very lucky and the 4:00pm nap is idea for me to make dinner. She's so alert through the day. Maybe I just need to chill out and thank my lucky stars. My eldest was a big sleep also . He slept 7-8 but wit only 1 nap for 1.5 hours at 1:00pm and his development was fine. At 3 he still has the exact same routine. It hasn't changed since he was 8 months.

My dd1 has always loved her sleep. At 9 months she was out of it from 7-7 most nights. Enjoy it because she’s 7 now and goes to bed at half 7-8 but gets up without fail at half 5 😩. My dd2 is a shocking sleeper and she is 2 so perhaps she will go the opposite way (fingers crossed) and will like sleep better as she gets older

StopBeingAGoat · 09/04/2018 21:12

😩 can we swap??

toasterstrudle · 09/04/2018 21:24

Don't worry! We're just lucky! DS nearly 9 months and sleeps 7:30- 7 reliably with 2 naps in the day. No night feeds. I just count my blessings tbh!

Currently pregnant with number 2 and wondering why I would disrupt all the sleep

springmachine · 10/04/2018 09:37

My 10 month old seems similar

Can't manage to stay up later than 7:30, sleeps through to between 5:30-6:30am when he wakes for bottle and nappy change.

Sometimes he will get up then and then have a nap at around 9am for an hour and then another nap in the afternoon which lasts a bit longer.

When we are travelling he sleeps a lot in the car so nap times are all over the place but night time sleep seems to stay the same

That is until last night when he decided that he would wake every 2 hours from 1am onwards.
His canines just started coming through so it's going to be a tired few days
