Noisy sleeper

My 7 week old (FF) is a pretty good sleeper - she'll go down at 9, wake at 2, go back down at 3 and then will happily sleep until 7 BUT she's so noisy that we have to get up around 5 - she'll then sleep quietly on one of us. Earplugs and white noise make no difference - she's SO loud - and she'll take her dummy greedily but spits it out within minutes and starts grunting and squeaking again. She's fast asleep the whole time! We've tried feeding her when she starts being noisy but she's not hungry.

Any similar experience or tips? I'm struggling to get to sleep after feeding her at 3 because I get so anxious knowing the noise will start any time after 4 - it's horrible.

She doesn't nap during the day except on me with me patting her back so I can't catch up on sleep during the day.

Their digestive systems fire up at 5am that’s why she’s making all tha noise.

If she is asleep, leave her to it. There is absolutely nothing wrong

@LapinR0se Problem is there's no way we could sleep through it - it's so loud. Even with earplugs and while noise. She also does it for an hour or more before she wakes up for her 3am feed.

This is why my 15 week old sleeps in her own room after the night feed

peachgreen · 23/03/2018 17:52

@LapinR0se I'm reaching that point!

It’s temporary, I can’t remember when it stopped - maybe 3 months? Hang in there!

I put DD in her own room because she was so noisy. I kept leaping out of bed to see to her because she was making so much noise;m, but she was fast asleep. I was exhausted and just couldn’t get any sleep with her in the same room. Her room was next door to ours and I left our doors open.

I slept much better after that!

Thanks @crazycatlady5, we've decided to hang on until 3 months and see if it improves. First beers crossed as it's exhausting! So frustrating that she's a good sleeper but we can't take advantage of it!

@MazDazzle It may yet come true that!

What earplugs do you use?

This moldex foamed earplus are very good for noise blocking. They saved hundreds of my nights. I didn't belive that earplugs or anything could help. But I was wrong. Try them, they cost ~ $0.5 for a pair.
