How to get DD to nap in the daytime?

DD is 15 weeks and generally a good nighttime sleeper but I'm really struggling with getting her to nap in the daytime.

E.g. Today:
0500 wake for feed and goes back to sleep
0700 up for the day
0830 -0900 nap
0900 - 1200 awake
1200 - 1245 nap
1245 until now - awake

I KNOW she is tired and she's rubbing her eyes and yawning, grizzling loads, but just will.not.sleep. The naps she does take involve me rocking and ssshhing in a dark room with her for close to 30 mins and then she sucks her thumb and nods off in my arms.

My back can't take it anymore and I just feel I should be able to put her in he crib, in a drowsy state, and she goes to sleep - yet we never seem to get to th drowsy state, it's just angry crying!

Does anyone have any tips?

Bouncy chair and dummy.

And awake time of 40-80 minutes between naps.

You usually have to work hard to get baby to sleep in the day. Park yourself on the sofa with bouncy chair at your feet. Bounce it with your foot. Be relentless about it - just keep going.

Active comfort sucking on the dummy will mean no crying

Reading this has reminded me that at that age I had to go out with the pram every afternoon at that age to get DD to sleep. She would settle in the house in the morning but not the afternoon for some reason.

Yes she does sleep in the buggy but it's almost like sleeps out the house (such as in the car) don't count and she's still tired when we get in.
She is a thumb sucker which does help massively I think but it just seems like it's such a huge battle for her short naps!

At home I've been spotting tired signs and taking DS (15 weeks) for a feed sitting on our bed then putting him down in his side cot when he comes off and seems sleepy. I know there are issues with feeding to sleep but I was feeling miserable because he was tired and grumpy and I couldn't get him to sleep for ages, and now he (and I) are happier more of the time.

Thanks all. This evening she was showing tired signs at around 5pm (yawning, eye rubbing) so I tried to put her down for a nap. This then went on for two hours of me putting her in crib, her yelling/crying, picking her up and swaying and shhhing, then putting her down and then crying starts. What am I doing wrong?
I tried her in the bouncer but she just screamed and thrashed around.

I don't think you are doing anything wrong. Unfortunately there is a horrible sleep regression around 4 months. Flowers
