'Baby led' feeding to sleep - what age did they decide to stop

Following on from Rosiep10 thread RE feeding to sleep I am interested when your babies decided to stop.

My DS is almost 5 mo and he is fed to sleep at night. Hes just started refusing to for naps out of the blue so is now rocked and held for the nap (yup, bad mummy).

But we are doing the 1.5 hour - 2.5 hour wake ups (~6 a night) as he doesnt self settle.

I am carrying on as its easy, hes in a next to me cot and its obviously convenient (ebf) and hes a happy happy boy. Hes a snacking milk guzzler feeding every 1 hour in the day so at least hes consistent!! (We are on demand all the way it would seem Hmm)

Just love to hear when your babies decided no more and settled by themselves/other ways. (Btw I am anticipating this is it for the long haul Smile)

Thanks!

I'm loving these! And am sooo glad my bf days are over not sad, no, not at all, honest

dd1 actively weaned her at 12 months (too much un helpful advice)
dd2 self weaned at 13 months gave me the "oh stop that mother" look, it was unmistakable. But she slept through from 4m.
dd3 actively weaned at 14 months - just exhausted.
ds would never have stopped! I weaned him at 2y8m. He fed all night, every night. Co slept until he was 4, and at almost 6 mostly sleeps in his own bed.

Ok, thinking about it I miss the closeness, not enough to have another baby though!

All three of mine breastfed to sleep or needed some prop to help them fall asleep for quite some time.

DS1 fed to sleep until around 8 months but then had a dummy until he was 3.

DD1 breastfed to sleep for 12 months, then switched to a bottle which she also used to fall asleep. I think she finally stopped this around 3.

DD2 - still breastfeeding to sleep at 20 months!
