Baby waking up since moving to her own room

DD, 4.5 months, isn't a bad sleeper, but it's pretty inconsistent. She has done quite a few 7.30-7 nights but sometimes it's 7-4/5 then sleep. I'm not complaining about that as I know it's not awful at all but would like to get her more regular. We moved her to her own room as we thought DH's terrible snoring could be bothering her but she seems to be waking more in her own room. Yesterday she woke at 2.30 after a 7.30 bedtime.

Is this possible as a reason? When she wakes she may have a feed then she will settle herself back to sleep, but I'm not even sure she needs the feed. All other experiences seem to suggest babies get more peace in their own rooms. Could she know she's alone and therefore isn't as willing to re-settle herself?

There are all sorts of leaps and spurts in the first year, it’s hard to tell what the reason might be, but that is an amazing stretch of sleep. I had no more than an hour at a time for almost a year Confused so don’t know it and just ride it out as it’s pretty normal (and also on the very lucky side of normal!)

Thanks, I know it's not bad at all. I know I shouldn't complain but I seem to have friends and mum's at baby groups who have babies who all sleep through blah blah

It's not so much her, yeaterday I was knackered as DH's snoring was so bad. I told him to move to another room Grin

If second @crazycatlady5 that sounds like an amazing amount of sleep for a 4 month old. 17 month old DD has slept for that long maybe 5 times in her entire life. If your baby is waking having a short feed and then settling herself you really have nothing to worry about, your baby is doing much much better sleeping than the vast majority at her age. Babies are supposed to sleep in with you until they are six months as listening to you breathe helps them to regulate their own breathing, even with snoring. DD can sleep through DPs snoring while lying right next to him and it's so loud I can hear it downstairs! Maybe try having her back in with you again if she was sleeping better.

Massive growth spurt around that time. Mines just eaten like crazy for almost 4 weeks solid before it calmed down!!! At one point he was eating four times a night and every 90 mins in the day! So could just be that baby needs more food.

Evidently it wasn't the snoring disturbing her (it usually isn't, parental sleep noises are usually calming for baby and not a hindrance). So I'd bring the cot back next to your bed.

You tried, it didn't work. So put baby back in your room where she should be (for SIDS protection)
