Just looking for some advice! Those of you who use your sleepyheads overnight, do you have a spare cover for them in case of accidents? We are due our first in a few weeks and just wondering about the practicalities. We've got the sleepyhead already on the advice of lots of friends. Plan on using in our tutti bambini bedside sleeper. Thank you in advance!!

We used a fitted cot bed sheet over small sleepyhead and a single fitted sheet over the top when we upgraded to the grand. The covers are so expensive!
Congratulations on your first

I bought one for my second and the fitted sheets that I bought for my moses basket for no.1 fit perfectly over the top. But I have found in case of overnight disasters that it washes and dries easily in a day and a flannel and a clean sheet make it comfortable until morning, although in fairness no.2 usually vomits all over my bed and not hers!

Dd was a real vommer so we ended up buying a spare sheet. We used to put the dirty one in the machine straight away and it would dry quite quickly but we definitely needed more than one!

We just use extra large muzzys and fold them over then change every couple of days unless there's a vom!

The spare sheets are really, really hard to get on! I wouldn't want to be wrestling with those in the middle of the night

Bucking the trend-we had 2 spare covers. Yes it’s a faff changing the cover but no way would I have left something loose in the cot with either of my DDs. I’d be too worried about them getting tangled. Also found the cover wouldn’t dry in a day, or less if you want them to nap in it too.

We don't have spare covers, It's very easy to wash and dry in time for the next night. DS is in his grobag so it would have to be a big accident to ask through that, and if ever sick a damp cloth straight away has been used

xandsch · 17/02/2018 03:33

*has been used straight away.
I sounded like a pirate.

These fitted crib sheets fit nicely over the sleepyhead-

I’d suggest waiting and see what kind of baby you have. In 4 months mine has only been sick on hers once, no poo or wee related disasters. So an expensive Sleepyhead sheet definitely isn’t needed.
(I wash it way less than I probably should do oops)
(Also my baby has never pooed in the night but she has poo issues so that might not be normal)

We just have one spare cover for ours, they wash and dry really quickly. They are expensive but please be aware that using muslins or other sheets not designed for the Sleepyhead will affect its breathability and therefore its safety. Just something to consider.
