Naps on the go

My lo is ok at sleeping inside in the dark for his naps and needs them to not be cranky. But his naps interferes with me not being able to go out or do anything. He might do 30-40 Mins when we are out but then wakes up in pram. Any suggestions

What do other people do? Just accept they have less sleep and deal with a crankier baby? Give them more sleep some other time? Any tips on getting them to stay asleep while out? He’s just so nosey he’s always looking around!

I think you just have to accept shorter naps on the go, I have older children so can't stay in for every nap.
Today DD (5 months) slept 8.45-9. 30 in her cot, then about 5(!) minutes in the pushchair while out at 12, 1.30-2pm in the car coming home, then 4-4.45 in her cot at home again.

40 min is the length of a baby sleep cycle so it's fine that he wakes after that long but I think at that age, mine was still having 4.

He's now down to usually 2, occasionally 3 and is 8 mo next week. Most are 40 min unless he's in the pushchair or snuggled up with me when he'll go longer. He can occasionally be extracted from carrier and put down asleep where he'll stay asleep for 2 hours.

But i never draw the curtains for naps, unless the sun in his room is right in his eyes. And it's never quiet in our house. The only thing that wakes him enough to not go back off with only a little persuasion is the dogs barking.

Well tried a nap on the go
Lasted 20 Mins and then he yelled the place down as overtired and wouldn’t get back to sleep when we were still out 1.5 hour later
Came home and with a lot of struggle and crying he fell asleep in crib.
Sigh! I can’t never go out!

Is there anything you can take with you that he associates with nap time? I used to take his snuggly thing and play white noise from my phone, both of which he has during nap times at home. If I was absolutely desperate I'd even consider taking his sleep sack out with me if I thought it would help Blush.

I also had a UV sun shade for the pram which made it dark enough for him to nap in.

Did them all!
White noise snooze shade over pram and dummy
I did stop moving maybe that didn’t help !
