Where to nap - 11 week old twins

Hi there, I have twin baby boys who are 11 weeks old and I have started to try and get them into a lose routine (I am not a fan of strict routines and like flexibility)

I don’t know where the best place for them to nap in the day is. Should I put them in their cot upstairs in the bedroom or keep them downstairs with me in a twin cushion which they sleep well in? I absolutely hate the thought of them being in the upstairs in cot for so long during the day! Advise please :)

We have almost cracked the going to bed routine, anywhere between 7-8 and they are asleep until about 1-2am.

Thanks

SIDs advice is that for young babies they sleep in the room with you. I didn't follow this to the letter, but if I was going to be downstairs DD napped somewhere downstairs so that she could hear me pottering around and so that I could check on her regularly.

DD liked napping in her pram, which was very convenient as I knew it was safe and if I needed to go out she would be ready to go. I'm guessing a twin pram might not be so easy to have set up in the house permanently though? Be careful with anything cushioned as these aren't really recommended for safe sleeping.

I know a few babies who nap downstairs in a sleepyhead on the floor or in a moses basket.

I had their cots upstairs and a travel cot downstairs for naps as I wasnt comfortable leaving them upstairs where I couldn’t see them. I did get a proper mattress for the travel cot though. They shared a cot until the were around 6 months and wouldn’t fit anymore. Be careful of the cushion, especially as they get older and start wiggling around more.
