I want to cry.

Just when I thought DD2's sleep was getting better we are back to all time shit nights.

Tonight she was asleep at 6.30. Awake at 12.30 - and I mean wide awake. She was fed and then DH took her downstairs to get her to sleep as we have a 3yo DD who if wakened, can take a couple hours to settle again.

Not sure what time he brought her back up stairs but she was then awake at 2.30, I fed her again and she fell asleep about 3.

4.15 she's awake again. Won't take a feed and is now wide awake again so have had to bring her downstairs again.

It's one thing having to get up and feed her a few times a night, but these 'awake' periods are driving me up the wall. She's sitting here smiling at me and I can't even crack a smile back. I just want to cry.

She's 6mo

@Chosenbyyou that's even worse when you have to function at work the next day Sad. How old is DC2?

We actually had a better night, still up 3 or 4 times but went back to sleep after a feed thankfully!

Hi all. Don't have any advice, but am in the same boat and here to show solidarity Grin I have a 2 year old and an 8 month old. 8 month old is teething at the moment and waking every 2 hours at least. He screams like someone is trying to murder him! I'm on my own with them and am absolutely knackered to the point of shaking. The 2 year old is usually a good sleeper but she is getting disturbed by it all now and waking up too. Sigh.

Oh no @Maccapacca88 - is your 8mo usually a good sleeper? I gave nurofen before bed and I think that helped, do you have any of that or calpol you could try?

Much respect to you for doing it on your own Star

Hi Sleep! He started off as a good sleeper and has gradually got worse since about 5 months. Have tried all the usual - calpol, ibuprofen, anbesol etc. Nothing is touching it. His teeth seem to be so slow to break the gum though, it must be horrible for him. It really rattles me knowing he is hurting and there is not a lot I can do. I guess it's just one of those things we have to deal with!

Thank you for the gold star, I do feel special nowGrin

Sleep and macca - how is it going?

My little DS is 9m - he self settled til he started trying to crawl and it went out the window then! He still sometimes self settles but it doesn't make him sleep longer. When he wakes he is awake for ages - well over an hour and normally twice a night. It's exactly the same as my DD who finally slept through at 14m.

Macca - much respect for you as a single parent. My DH works a lot of nights as a doctor but I find it good to moan to him about it! You are a real star xx

Chosen things are marginally better - the last couple nights there's no extended awake time (phew!) BUT last night she was up every 90mins for a quick feed. My back and shoulders are sore from feeding so much so going to ask MIL to watch DD2 while DD1 is at nursery and I'll go for a massage!!
