Teen DS Sleeping Problems

Does anyone have any experience of this... DS almost 14 has phases of not being able to sleep. Seems to occur when his routine is broken eg summer and now Christmas holidays but not half term.
He will easily stay awake most of the night. Now that I have taken his phone overnight he will appear at my bedside at 2/3 am saying that he can't sleep. As soon as we swap beds he is out like a light.
Can this be the right way to go about things... him sharing with me or DH just to get a full nights sleep?

Dc2 went through this. It was almost like they needed to hear another person breathing in the bed to fall asleep.
I'd stick with it for now if it's ok with you.
You might find they 'grow out' of it.

Currently going through the same with my 14yo. who is sleeping in my bed, whilst I'm on the sofa ! In my case, it's due to stress of school. Could this be the same sort of thing for your DC ?

mine that seems to be him to a tee. It is fine by us so seems to be the way to go.

why he does fund school stressful but this has only started again since they broke up for Christmas (and don't go back until the 8th). Last time it was going back to school that sorted him out.. thankfully. Perhaps it's not as uncommon as I thought though.

Maybe the routine of school helps keep his mind focused? ? And things lapse a bit, when he's on downtime ?
