Move LO to his cot?

My LO is 2 months old, he sleeps in our room in a baby box at the moment. But he's quickly growing out of it and we can't fit a cot in our bedroom as it's too small.

My concern is that obviously they are most at risk of cot death at this age, but soon he will not fit in his box and then he'd have to move into his cot anyway, which would be in his own room. We do have one of those breathing monitors that go under the mattress & a baby monitor on the way..

I'm just a little nervous about it.

Could you get a crib? Mine lasted til 8mo in their crib.

Alternatively could you or dh sleep in the babys room with him? Would there be room for a single mattress?

I’d do whatever it takes to find a way to keep him in the same room as you. A crib, a space saver cot, co sleep safely, put a mattress on his floor? A breathing monitor sadly does not prevent SIDS.

The room isn't big enough for a mattress.. I will look into a crib though. Thanks!

We had the cot along the bottom of our bed until they were old enough for the cot to be in their own room

Would it be possible to move a wardrobe or chest of draws into the other room for now? Not ideal but better than not having room for a cot IMO. I've known people that had to move some of their furniture into another room to make space.

I’d agree with PP about getting a crib if you can. Dd was in hers until 7 months and they take up very little space...
