2 week old and nighttime sleep

My 2 week old DD has a small crib that we keep at the bedside and one of those Baby Box University boxes.
The first few days after she came home from the hospital, she'd sleep in the crib at night and the box in our living room during the day. She sleeps like an absolute dream all day in the box but when it comes to the crib at nighttime, she's a nightmare! She never settles and either me or DH seem to be constantly up with her or cuddling her in our bed.
After a few nights, I started bringing the box into our bedroom and letting her sleep in there at night. She finally started sleeping for around 3 hours between feeds and only fussed in the morning when she wanted a cuddle.

The problem is, DH doesn't like her sleeping on the floor in a box. He's convinced that something will somehow fall on her and doesn't like not being able to see her. He's moved her back into the crib the past couple of nights and again she's been crying and fussing all night unless she's co-sleeping with me. He says we need to persevere with the crib but I don't see the point. It seems to stress her out too much.

I've been thinking of buying one of the Chicco Next2me co-sleepers but they're expensive if she won't settle in that either. What would you do?

Can you put the box in the crib?

Put the box in the crib?

It won't fit unfortunately Sad the box is wider than the crib.

Why do you think she prefers the box? Do you think she feels more secure? You could roll up a blanket or towel and put it around the edge of the crib, making a sort of nest for the baby, which might help? I tried that with my baby (and wrapped a t shirt of mine round the blanket too so it smelled like me) when I was trying to get him to go in his moses basket. Or those sleepyhead things do something similar I believe? I gave up trying to settle DS anywhere other than with me at 8 weeks and just co-slept full time. Much easier for all of us!

My DS was the same. We have a next2me but he wouldn’t settle in that alone either. The only way me and DH would get any sleep is if he co-slept in bed with me - even the next2me wasn’t close enough for him!!
We invested in a sleepyhead in the end. I was sceptical especially as it’s so expensive, but it was so worth the investment! We put it into the next2me and he sleeps so much better now.
Our routine now (he’s 7weeks old): whilst I’m giving him a feed (EBF) before I put him down to sleep, I’ll put a heated bean bag in his sleepyhead to warm it up a bit first (obviously remove it before he goes in it). After burping etc I put him in a babygro sleeping bag and put him down in the sleepyhead. We then give him a dummy, play some white noise (there are some 12 hour long videos on YouTube that are great, much better than that bloody Ewan sheep which only lasts for 20mins) and he goes straight to sleep almost every time!
Obviously every baby is different, and if he’s having a growth spurt etc then it doesn’t always work. Good luck!! Flowers

Another vote for sleepyhead and swaddling!
