10.5 month old bedtime routine

Hi Everyone, looking for some advice on our 10.5 month old little boys bedtime. He's been great at going to bed at 7 on the dot since 4 months old but in the last few weeks every bedtime has been a battle and sometimes he is not going to bed until 9. He is tired and looks like he wants to sleep but as soon as we start to snuggle down for his bedtime feed he gets really wiggly and starts kicking and wants to get down. Often he ends up doing a poo and then settles down but not sure what I can do to change this as it seems to be happening a lot and is really interfering with his bedtime routine. He has been pooping a lot in the last few weeks so not sure if it's teething or something else? Just wondering if anyone else has experienced this as am a ftm and have no idea what's going on with him at the moment Hmm

Yep same here, my boy is also 10.5 months and his bedtime is getting later and later (in fact he’s still awake now!!) I think he’s trying to transition down to one nap atm and that’s wreaking havoc with his sleep times.

He’s also doing loads of poos too, I’d put this down to an increase in his solids intake plus I’ve introduced meat too. He is teething too, though I didn’t connect the two myself.

Have a look st the 8-10 month sleep regression and Wonder Weeks.

Pooing at bedtime could be to do with his diet. Try to make lunch the protein heavy meal and dinner the carb heavy meal.

I would also start separating milk feed and bedtime, so he goes to sleep in his cot without a milk association
