My 6 month old is still waking up 2-5 times at night, I can’t stand hearing her cry so I try and try but end up getting her and feeding her, has anyone got any tips on how I can night wean her off milk and help her sleep through? I’m exhausted

Do you feed her at bedtime? Have you started weaning yet?

Chaosofcalm · 15/12/2017 10:44

It is normal for a baby to wake up hungry during the night, and to just wake up because they have completed a sleep cycle.

We start her bedtime routine from half 7, so we bath her then give her a bottle and we’ve started weaning her onto solids yes

Watching for interest. My DS is the same age and does the same. Getting pressure from DH to move him to nursery "to see if it will improve things" but I know I'll just end up traipsing to a different room in the cold and the cot would be unlikely to be moved back if it's a failure!

Maybe a dreamfeed when you go to bed?

Bluebelltulip · 15/12/2017 12:38

Completely normal at 6 months.

FATEdestiny · 15/12/2017 18:40

And you bottle feeding or breastfeeding?

How many milk feeds does she have during the day and how many at night? Do you feed to sleep at bedtime?

What's her daytime routine like?

PotteringAlong · 15/12/2017 18:42

That’s completely normal. She’s still very little!

SophieLouise93 · 16/12/2017 09:49

I’m bottle feeding, so we’ll get up anytime from half 7-half 8, she’ll have some porridge then about 30 mins to and hour later she’ll have a bottle, then she’ll have a nap then anyway then bottle, playtime, nap, playtime, tea(puréed veg etc) then playtime and another bottle, then we’ll start her bedtime routine from around half 7, we don’t really follow set times in the day like I let her have a nap when she’s tired which most often is different times everyday

As PPs have said it’s completely normal!
