Advice needed.
My 10 month old still isn't sleeping through the night. He goes down ok but then wakes up numerous times crying. In the early hours we give In & bring him in with us.Im not too bothered by that but what does concern me is that he's so restless & thrashes about so much. Also cries out numerous times even with us.
Any advice very welcome.

Do you feed him in the night?

What's baby's daytime sleep routine?

How does baby go from awake to asleep at bedtime did nap time?

Mummy274 · 09/12/2017 17:15

He doesn't feed through the night anymore. He naps Morning about 2hrs after waking them possibly late lunch or afternoon nap.He has 2 naps a day these last 2 weeks.

My nearly 11 month old is a terrible sleeper, always has been, waking loads in the night. I did find it got worse in the last few weeks, with more crying and then a few nights where he just seemed wide awake and babbling away. I wonder if there is a big developmental leap at this age that is partially to blame?

Well my little one was 10 months yesterday & I was wondering the same thing.I keep hoping it'll get better.

There is an 8-10 month sleep regression, but in general it’s still quite common to wake at 10 months and beyond.

Mummy274 · 10/12/2017 09:08

Is the restlessness normal? I feel like he's constantly thrashing around.

Yes - I think it’s all to do with becoming more mobile, and growing very quickly through the night! It’s tough and I’m right there with you!

FATEdestiny · 10/12/2017 12:00

You may need to physically hold him to reduce the thrashing around

At least I'm not the only one.Another question for you,why is the feeding so bloody hard.I literally want to cry when it comes to feeding him proper food. Its the biggest battle & only likes fruit & yogurt.

Are you doing puree or proper food?

crazycatlady5 · 10/12/2017 15:04

I know, mine is the same except she likes pasta, bread and yoghurt (a bit filling at least!) I tend to sneak some avocado on the toast Grin that has worked. And hidden veg in the pasta sauce. Have you down traditional weaning or BLW? Either way my kid eats loads of pasta and bread and it hasn’t made an ounce of difference to sleep!

We're doing purée & normal food.BLW & I feed him.Its just a nightmare,I actually dread dinner time.Breakfast I can handle but after that it goes downhill. Will put avocado on the toast next time.

Please don’t worry too much about it. A lot of baby’s don’t eat that much until over a year, yes baby’s over 6 months need other nutrients but it’s not huge amounts - the annoying term ‘food before one just for fun’ is mostly true. I provide really easy things to make that aren’t going to create too much mess or waste (such as pasta with sauce, can make in bulk), fruit, yoghurt. It will get easier x

FATEdestiny · 10/12/2017 15:55

There's a fine balance needed between hungry, but not too hungry, when weaning. Too hungry and the meal time becomes stressful, not hungry and baby isn't interested.

This will involve careful timing of meals (and milk) around sleeps - because a tired baby also won eat well.

I used to start every meal with a savory puree - easy to get calories in and covers the important protein food group. Then finger food after the puree.

Mummy274 · 10/12/2017 17:27

Thank you for all the advice.I definitely stress too much.
