I tried PU/PD with Ds at 4 months which was going quite well she then became quite ill for a few weeks and has been co-sleeping ever since. Really want to move her to her cot and reclaim bed for me and dp what can you all suggest? Thanks

Hey there
I had real problems with ds2 with cosleeping until he was about 10 months old. I'd had enough and it was damaging our relationship (dh and I) so I did the baby whisperer pupd religiously.
After day 3 it was down to 1 hours and he would still wake up 2 or 3 times during night and I'd do it again.
Finally after about 6 weeks of this I had to leave him beacuse he was so used to being comforted that he just grabbed my hand and pressed it to his face and wouln't let go and yet was ddesperatly struggling to fall asleep, thrsahing about.
I told him no and I left the room. He cried for about 10 seconds and from then on has settled down.
I then moved him into his older sister's room and was really nervous about it but it works great as she will either wake him/comfort him by talking to him when they wake up in the morning.
we've just hit a blip as we shared a room for a week on holiday and he cried to be taklen intom our bed middle of the night and couldn't settle for ages etc

But it only took 1 day to get back on track.

I go by the 3 day rule. If you want to change their habits, you need to break the 3 day pain barrier but it will be worth it!
