How much does your 2-3 month old sleep?

I have a 9 week old dd. She was a bit of a grumpy catnapper in the day, loads of 20/30/40 minute naps, loads of breastfeeds, awake and cluster feeding 7pm-10pm.
In the last couple of days I have discovered that if I walk with her in the pram and she sleeps for more than 30 minutes, I can come home and she will sleep a further 1-2 hours.
So today she has had 3x 1.5-2.5 hour naps, fed 3 hourly for 20 minutes then been awake for about an hour before the next nap.
This seems like a lot of daytime sleep compared to what she was having though and I'm terrified she will be up all night tonight!

What is typical for babies this age?

Mine did exaxtly the same at that age...catnapping through day but no better at night, it got slightly better after the 4 month mark though!

My 8 week old is similar during the day-if we’re at home then it’s lots of cat naps-none of these lovely 1/2/3 hour naps I hear people talk of
Stick him in the car seat though and he can do 1-2hrs roughly

Nights are better and we’ve had some long stretches

My first DS was similar although the nights were awful

This too shall pass!

My 3 month old can have 6 hours of sleep during the day (over around 4 naps) and if doesn't seem to affect his sleep in the evenings. Well, he won't sleep anywhere but in my arms, but that's another issue! I've read on here that small babies need to sleep a lot more than I realized. My first dc hardly slept at all in the day and I have now come to understand that she must have been constantly overtired.

My DS is almost 5mths now and I still find that if he sleeps well in the day, he’ll find it easier to settle at night. If he hasn’t had at least one long nap (1hr min) plus catnaps then I know i’m in trouble!

If he gets too overtired and crabby (like this evening) he just doesn’t know where to put himself and tries to refuse feeds, doesn’t want held OR put down and needs rocked quite hard to sleep. Only to wake up minutes later.

If he’s quite well rested I find that I can watch for him starting to yawn and rub his eyes then put him in his cot with his white noise and he’ll usually fall asleep within 10 mins.
