Little nap refuser - help!

I'm struggling to get my 10 week-old to nap. When she is obviously tired (after about an hour of being awake) I can settle her to sleep in the cot or pram, but she wakes herself up after 5 or 10 minutes then fights it. She doesn't even cry - just squirms around looking tired, drifting in and out but ultimately not bloody sleeping. The only exception is the sling, but it's not practical for me to take her out walking for every single nap as I've got a 3 year old too. She doesn't fall asleep after feeds so I can't even use that as a backup plan. She sleeps very well at night so I can't understand why this is such a struggle! I'm sure people will say this is a phase but meanwhile how do I make sure she gets enough rest and stop her getting into bad habits?

What bad habits would she be getting into?
Does she fall asleep on you or in a sling? At that age mine only had decent sleeps on me.

You do what you have to do and don't worry about bad habits at such a young age. I am not.
Will the baby sleep on you at all? Bouncy chair with dummy in?

We have been using a dummy but I'm not sure it's doing any good. It gets her off to sleep but she wakes when it slips out, so a bit counterproductive! I don't actually think sleeping in the sling is a bad habit as such, it's just that it's wearing me out having to walk her around several times a day. I would like the flexibility of being able to put her down at home or go out with her in the pram, specially when my older daughter is around.

My ds was like this and I agree, sling naps are inconvenient some of the time. I did the baby whisperers shushing and patting. It's hard bloody work and may be impossible with 3 yr old around. But it works and when they Are coming into the light sleep you can pat them back into deeper sleep. And it makes cot naps feasible. Keeping them asleep for more than 30 minutes is another thing altogether don't get me started on that!

I could have written this OP. Having exactly the same issue with my 10 week old. She sleeps so well at night, 7 - 7 with feeds at 11 and 3 but in the day won't sleep for more than 20 mins at a time unless on me or her Dad, or in the baby bjorn. She won't really sleep in pram anymore either. It seems to be getting worse as she gets older. She was 5 weeks prem and spent the first 5 weeks sleeping all the time, with no help from me, so now at a loss of what to do! She also never really cries, just lies there awake.

Try a white noise app, my DD naps much better and longer when this is on it’s almost as if blocks all other noise out and she’s focused just on that one sound whilst she’s sleeping
