When did your lo drop to only 1 nap a day?

Dd usually goes to bed at 8 and wakes at 8:30.
She naps at about half eleven but this can vary in length.
She can also nap at 4-5 but is often hard to get down at this point.
We are now finding that she is hard to get down at bedtime and I think it's that she's just not tired enough.
I'm wondering if it's time to drop the second nap but don't want to make problems for myself.
Thanks

My little girl dropped to one nap not long after she turned one. How long does she nap at 11:30? I found when she first dropped to one nap she needed early bedtime so down for 6/6:30pm. You could try putting her to bed early rather than the second late nap?

Posters on here and some sleep resources tend to say that majority of babies drop to 1 nap between 14-18 months but everyone I know in real life dropped between 10-13 months. My daughter is coming upto 12 months and I'm hoping the 2 naps will continue for a while, but we have had to cut the morning nap down as letting her nap for as long as she wanted was impacting on the rest of the day

Dd was 17 months. I tried once or twice before that but she clearly was not ready. But she is very snoozy, is nearly three, sleeps around 10-11 hours at night and naps for over two in the day. Her naps used to be earlier though - am nap around 9:30/10:00 and pm about 13:00, each for a couple of hours.

Try getting her naps a bit earlier? Even by half an hour it might make a difference.

For my DD, it was from about 14 months, but she's 16 months now, and TBH, is still making the transition. Sometimes she needs two, sometimes she can hold out for one after lunch.

I'd go with your gut - important thing is that they're getting enough sleep over all

Around 14 - 15 months when she started at nursery. She wuickky fell into the nursery routine of one nap a day, even though they would put her down in the morning if she was tired. She carried on having two naps on days at home for a while though.

DC1 - 12 months
DC2 - 12 months
DC3 - 9 months (he was always more advanced than his age in his sleep development)
DC4 - Between 20-22 months

Hindsight has taught me that keeping naps longer is better.

9 months old when he started Nursery. Up at 5:30/6:00. Nap from 12:00-14:00. In bed by 19:00 - sleeps through.

My now 3 year old couldn’t last that long at his age. She use to be up the same time but have an hour before lunch and an hour mid afternoon at Nursery otherwise she was too tired to eat her lunch. She was probably about 18 months when she switched to one longer nap after lunch, which she kept up until she was 3. At 3 and a half she’s just decided that she doesn’t want a nap after lunch, but she is shattered by 18:00 and struggles to stay awake on the 10 Mum car ride home.

Our transition felt like it lasted forever! It started at 13 months and she was only solidly on one nap at 19 months. Prior to 19 months if she only had one nap, she would need 2 naps for the next couple of days. If she had one nap for a few days in a row she would be knackered and grumpy. It made it tricky to plan things sometimes (as she only slept at home, not in the buggy etc) but I figured really it was only a short time out of our lives, and I would rather her get a healthy amount of sleep.
