Do you have a wind down routine for naps? If so, what do you include and how long is it? TIA

We don't, but I'll bump in case others do.

Starts downstairs with me saying "let's go and find your dummy for a sleep" (dummy is only on offer at sleep time). Then take off bottom half clothing leaving baby just weaning a top, nappy change, into sleeping bag, given dummy, into cot. Takes literally about 60 seconds.

Nursery rhyme while putting sleeping bag on in darkened room, cuddle, white noise on then put in cot for us. When she was smaller, we also did a little massage for her feet but not needed any more

Mine is nearly same at FATE's (I do loads of sleep things based on her advice :) ).

I say "do you want a dummy" then nappy change and into pjs and bag and into cot.

My (23 months) naps downstairs on the sofa (great nighttime sleeper in his bed but never done well napping upstairs). Roughly same time every day (between 1 - 1.30pm) I place a blanket on the sofa, close half the curtains and lie Big Teddy next to the blanket. We then read the same story every time and he lies down to listen, asleep within 5mins. Will sleep fantastically so long as no one knocks on the front door!!
I think the short routine and familiar items is key - he wasn't very well the other week so put himself down for a nap but set it up as I would, even having got the book from the shelf.
It's worked better downstairs too because he's comforted knowing I'm around (downstairs is open-plan) and if ever fought the nap I've just taken the rare opportunity to lie down with him.
