My 4 month old won't nap during the day

Help!! We have just come back from our first family holiday and my 4 month old slept the longest she has ever slept, from 11pm - 4am and her first time in a travel cot rather than her Moses basket. We are now back and the first night she slept well and we have now put her cot together for her to sleep in but as soon as she is put down in it she wakes up. She has also decided she doesn't need to nap in the day anymore unless it's on me. Does anyone have any tips how to get her into a sleep routine?

Firstly, (I'm guessing this little one is your first?) I would advise you not to spend too much time trying to work out what made her do such a long stretch. You can drive yourself mad trying to guess and recreate the right condition. She slept well one night because she just did. Take the pressure off yourself.
Have you tried putting the Moses basket in the cot (if it fits) to help her get used to it?
Also, (I'm guessing here, and doing exactly what I just advised you not to!) could the cot be draughty? They can be very open compared to a cozy little Moses basket, which travel cots sometimes aren't so much?

I assume the cot is next to your bed? If not, it will probably your presence nearby she wants.

Agree with PP's advice not to analyse short term changes too much. It's long term progress over many months that matters.

Does your cot have adjustable mattress heights? At this age have the mattress base on the highest setting - it makes putting baby in there much easier. You can also remove one side off most cots and they are stable 3-sided. Wedge it up to your bed and you have a sidecar cot which is far easier to settle baby into.
