Are the co sleeping cribs worth the money?

Last time she had her own Cot in on our room but she really just ended up on my side of the bed and I was so paranoid for her safety. This time I'd like to get a clip on Cot but not sure if they're worth the money. I'd probably get a second hand one but even they are pricy.

I've done both, co-sleeping crib and cot. I preferred crib as it left more space to get in and out of bed (we have both foot and head board on our bed). The sides are lower as well so it's easier to lift them in and out, all very minor point's but I fancied making life as easy as possible! It was lovely and cosy, it was on wheels as well so could be wheeled from one room to the next a bit easier than the cot which took up more room.

I'm not sure my bedrooms bi enough for a full sized Cot

Do you have a chest of drawers in your bedroom? Or a dressing table?

I would shift these out of your bedroom (into baby's nursery?) In order to fit a cot in.

You often have to lose your bedside table (if you have one) when you put a cot next to your bed, so the cot matches where you lie better. So that's one but bit of furniture out.

Also consider that if DP gets up/dressed before you and baby, having his wardrobe/drawers in a different room may be better for everyone. It means you are less disturbed when he gets dressed.

In my opinion the best possible type of cot for a bedside cosleeper cot is a drop-side cotbed (so bigger than a standard cot). If move furniture out/around to fit it. More space to cuddle in, longer term use of the cotbed itself (6 years or so), no need to change baby's sleeping arrangements from newborn onwards, dropside adds many more options for the sidecar cot as baby gets older and more mobile.
