When do we get a lie in??!?!

DS almost 7 months, awful sleeper, CMPA & reflux. BF baby. Taken well to solids, had 2 good nights recently, but back to 2 hourly wakings, then takes me an hour to resettle him Confused

He does self settle (used the shush pat method- never been a baby to fall asleep in arms due to reflux).

He needs me, I know this & that's fine but I'm so bloody tired, been struggling with tension headaches/migraines. Doctor thinks they're hormonal.

Kinda lost it this morning with DH, not once in 7 months had he offered for me to lie in even for a bloody hour! He works hard & I appreciate that, but surely I'm not being unreasonable? To want an every so often lie in an I???Hmm

Have you asked him to give you a lie in?

I feel your pain. I tend to give my husband a lie in every weekend as I just find it easier as he copes much less with sleep deprivation 😂 but we do sleep until about 8.30 as our 7 month old goes to sleep around 9pm. Late bedtimes aren't for everyone though x

The way it works in our house is I do all of the night wakes, always and long term. DH does all of the morning wake ups, always.

My pay-off for broken nights is an hour or two extra in the mornings. But I don't take the poss in that. Our children are usually up 7-7.30am 365 days a year, I get up 7.30am (15 mins before DH leaves for work) weekdays and 8-9am ish weekends. We are not talking the 10-11am lie-ins of pre-baby days anymore.

So while I wouldn't exactly call them lie-ins, the only times my DH has got up after me in 13 years of parenting 4 children is twice a year - his birthday and fathers day. I get all the rest of the lie-ins (but they are not really lie ins anymore)

My partner gets up at 6:30am for work mon - Friday
My 18 month old doesn't wake up at night anymore and wakes anytime between 6:30-7:30.
I get up when she wakes .
Saturday is my lay in till about 8-8:30 and Sunday is my partners lay in

Is there any such thing as a lie-in with a BF baby? Both of mine were feed-to-wake as well as feed-to-sleep so there was zero point in DH getting up with either of them in the morning as they'd want a leisurely 20 mins or so on the boob, by which time I was fully awake for the day, despite the 90 min/2 hourly wakings the night before.

They're 5yo and 3yo now. The night-wakings are a distant (but painful) memory, but a 'lie-in' for us is 6:30. We get that about once a month (maybe), if they coordinate sleeping that long together. The rest of the time a GroClock just about keeps them in bed until 6am. I get up at 5:45 on weekdays so I can shower and dress for work before they're up. Later bedtimes do naff all.

I'm not expecting anything later for quite some time to come. Suffice it to say, I'm usually in bed by 10pm at night.
