Reflux sleep problems

My LO was diagnosed as having reflux at about three weeks old. We were told to keep him upright after each feed for 30 mins to reduce sickness - which it does. However he falls asleep on us, again can easily be put into sleepyhead at night and settles.
But in the daytime he wont sleep unless on us which I'm worried is now going to become a problem. He does off, we move him to chair/Moses basket etc and within 10 mins he's wide awake!
How can we help him learn to sleep without staying on us??? Ideas appreciated!

How old is your little one?

A bouncy chair holds baby in a position where head is raised above stomach, which is good for reflux. The idea would be to get baby to sleep in the bouncer though (by bouncing) rather than transferring once asleep.

You could also try raising one end of the Moses basket by putting a book or something under one end.

A sling or wrap might work, if yoy like to hold and carry baby for naps.

Dummies are also said to ease reflux symptoms.

Thanks fate we have the crib tipped and use dummies which help. I just find that even in the bouncy chair he's still sick whereas on us he's not! I need the milk to stay in him as he was struggling putting weight on but worried we're creating problems for future with him dozing off on us. Need something that props him more than bouncy chair!!!

How old is he?

If you need something that is fully upright, a sling or baby carrier would be your best bet.

The best option though is to get the right medication so that he stops being sick, this would solve the problem. What medication are you on for him?

He's nearly 11 weeks. On ranitidine, gaviscon and aptimel pepti as possible milk intolerance.
Have referral to paeds but waiting for apt. GP supportive and got another apt tomo. Just can see future problems building up thru things that we can't control

Look at the cranial osteopathy threads and make your own mind up Smile

Sling was a godsend for me.
