Is 14 months too young for a bed?

Im just after people's opinion....my daughter is 14 months old and will not sleep in her cot she gets really upset even when I put her in there in the day or with her older sister with toys. She sleeps with us every night which is now getting a bit draining....I really need a good nights sleep Confused she seems so much more settled in a bed so last night we tried putting her in my eldest daughters toddler bed for bed...she slept untill 5am.it may have just been 1st night luck but I'm wondering whether to take down cot and try her in a bed. She's always been really forward and was walking at 10 months but I don't know whether she's too young...or it's just me not letting my baby grow up 😢 what do people think???

Why would she be to young? It's entirely up to you when you put your children into a bed (as long as there's no danger) my youngest was 15 months but that was down to space! And with a suitable bed guard she was absolutely fine!

My DD was 13 months. She's a climber so it was safer than risking her climbing out of the cot. Make sure hr even room is very safe and in the daytime let her practice getting in and out of it safely. DD is nearly 2 and has never fallen out.

Do you have both a bed and a cot?

If so, I'd have the cot in your bedroom and the bed in gets. She then gets the option of the bed on her own, or the cot in with you - neither of which are in your bed.

I'd worry about what she might get up to. You might have to put a baby gate in the bedroom doorway to at least keep her contained in the room, but then the bedroom will need to be free of hazards which is easier said than done.

Our son was 17 months. He wasn't climbing, but I knew he would be happier in a bed. We moved him to his own room at 16 months, as we didn't want his toddler bed in our room (too much he could reach and things). We have a gate at his door and I have the video monitor on all night. We didn't bother with bed guards as I didn't think we needed them. We put his old cot mattress on the floor at first (he only rolled out twice). He loves his bed, especially the quilt and pillow
