So my boy is 15 months old.... he's not slept through once yet.... he's not a cryer but after going down for 7pm(easily) he then wakes maybe 3 times in the night... no exact times so don't think habit, starts after 11, never dirty nappy, was giving milk have stopped that, 9/10 will go back down after some shushing but if totally awake insists on our bed and we're too tired to argue, wakes up for the day somewhere between 6-7. It's not awful but isn't good for any of us.... would be grateful of any tips thank you in advanceSmile

The key to independant sleep will be in-cot settling, so not giving in and bringing baby into your bed.

Have you only recently stopped night feeds? It will take a while to adjust to the change.

The shushing and whatnot is a good idea. If exhausting to do, it would be better for you to sleep on a bed next to the cot (either in your room or babys) to do in-cot settling than bring baby in and cosleeping.

If you haven't already, have a go at introducing a comforter of some kind. Special teddy or blankie to cuddle, for example.

The only other point is obvious, get to baby as quickly as possible in the night. The more awake baby becomes, the harder it will be to settle. Having the cot next to your bed makes this quick responce easier.
