Ds (38months) wont sleep in bed

My ds sleeps really well, and goes to bed at 7pm, and he will be asleep by 7.30pm.

However, my ds will not go to sleep in his bed. He will sit on it, and even lie down, but the minute it is bed time, he wants to be back in his cot.

What is the best way to deal with this?

Thanks

why does he have to be in a bed? If he is sleeping well leave him

TrinityRhino · 22/03/2007 17:14

If he is still comfortable I would let him

He still fits in his cot really well, and doesn't even try to get out, just shouts Daddy in the morning!

Only thing is, how long can he stay in it?lol

and because I want my dd (18months) to sleep in it! But, I suppose, we could try her in my ds's bed!

wheres does dd sleep now?

have you tried the "big boy" route and lets give your baby bed to the baby thingy

jofeb04 · 22/03/2007 17:26

A normal cot, but ds's is a cot bed. Was hoping on dd moving into there, as it is gettting a bit tight in there and don't think it's going to last for another couple of months! Ds would move into big boy bed etc.

We've tried the big boy route, but he shouts to my dd that "i need my bed, you have that one" pointing to the bigger bed!

we got ds1 into a bed by accident after a very bad false start - we went to stay with some friend who had 2 slightly older boys who had co-incidentally got bunk beds that day - ds1 slept in a travel cot in their room and was fascinated. when we left he kept talking about the big boy bed, and we picked up a cabin bed the next day and we have never had a problem with him since- he was as proud as anything to be a 'big boy like Alex'. Can you engineer a similar thing, where he has a sleep over with somone he thinks is great who is in a normal bed?

Yes, he is 3years 2months, but he really doesn't like it. As soon as we leaves, he stands up, really cries (makes himself sick).

We really want a easy way to get him into the bed
