Two small children sharing a room

How does it work? My house has two bedrooms, I have two children. Ds1 is in his own room, in his cotbed (still with sides on) and is 22 months. Generally sleeps through.

Ds2 is in my room, sidecar cot. 3 months.

So I'm a bit early to be worrying about it, but I am wondering if it's going to be a bloody nightmare?

Both bedrooms are huge, plenty of room for both of them.

Any tips?!?!

My boys have shared since they were 3 and 9 months. DS1 actually slept better when DS2 joined him. They are still in together at 10 and 7.

Any problems?

Ds1 was a 'bad' sleeper, but is generally quite good now. I tend to sit with him while he falls asleep but am moving away again now (used to put him in cot and leave but he took several steps back when I was in hospital having his brother)

Ds2 so far is a much better sleeper

I have a DS and DD with a much bigger age gap. We put up a temporary wall, no door between the two at the minute but as they get older we will have one made. They both sleep much better (both were waking up to three times a night) and generally love that they have their own spaces in the same room.
DP shared a room from age 1-18 when he left home, said between the fighting he loved it (6boys so all had to share).
Best tip I can offer is give them their own space if they're fully sharing a room, let their personalities show.

A bit different but... I've just spent a couple of weeks at my parents' house where me, 19 month old and 3 month old shared a room. I was quite worried about them disturbing each other. They seemed to sleep fine together and didn't even stir when one got up for a feed or cuddle. I'm sure it'll be fine.

They don't disturb each other at all once they are asleep. I put DS2 to bed and then read/chat to DS1 downstairs while DS2 falls asleep. They've slept through changing wet beds, vomiting, crying, nightmares. DS2 used to wake DS1 in the mornings when he woke up, but DS1 gets very grumpy about that now!
