ARRGGHH

My son is coming up to 34 week (8 1/2 months) and is still waking up at night.

It's not a feed, we've stopped that and he accepts it, but his dummy is constantly falling out and he works his way up to the top of the cot.

It's usually after midnight and continues all the way through to 5.30am - come 6am when it's get up time - he's snoring his head off!

as soon as he's got his dummy he settles back down (well most of the time).

Hubby & I are getting really interupted sleep and we're both shattered.

Any ideas?

If I was you I would throw away the dummies. He must be using them as a comforter but has become dependent on them for sleep.
You will have a tough couple of nights, but if you perservere he will sleep much better.
When he wakes up, instead of giving him the dummy, just pick him, and then put him back in his cot when he is calm. Stay with him until he settles. He may cry for a bit but just try and comfort him as best you can, with out giving him the bottle.
I speak from experience as my dd was dependent on a bottle at night until she was 18 months old. We bit the bullet a few months ago and threw away all the bottles and after only 4 or 5 nights she slept through the night.

Just persavere. DD did this until she was able to put the dummy back in herself at about 10 months old.

Try putting more in the cot or even on a dummy tie to make it easier for them.
