What do you wear to bed? To sleep in, I mean................

Since becoming a mum (and single), I find that my sleepwear has slowly become fairly awful. I used to have some lovely nightgowns (still have them, but they're now older than dd). I often just go to bed in an old t-shirt/drawstring pajama trousers or even don't bother to change and just drop into bed in the t shirt/vest I've been wearing all day.

What do you wear? Please can the MN 'style council' find us some appealing/affordable/comfortable sleepwear?

T shirt and knickers I've been wearing that day

My DS is 5 months, and several family members bought my really nice pyjamas for afterwards...clearly they all now faded on the shoulder but it was a lovely thought and made me feel much better. Monsoon/M&S/etc do some lovely silk pyjamas which can be ordered on-line. To be fair though, sometimes nothing better than climbing into bed with what you've been wearing.

littlelapin, depending on how norkish you are, you may not need to keep wearing bras to bed? I found I didn't get engorged really after the first six months, so didn't need them (I am small norked, though, which may be a factor?).

I wear various nightgowns, and pyjama bottoms. None of which match, none of which I really like. Well, I have some nice bottoms from Old Navy, but they're thin cotton so not great for cold weather. I did start a thread asking for recommendations of nice hip flannel pjs, and got some good answers, but haven't gone shopping yet.

I hate stuff round my legs so I have a combination of old t-shirts (DH cast offs and nightshirts - mostly that my mum bought for me for christmas when I was in my teens. I like my shoulders to be warm but no glamorus silk lace jobbies here.

I have old tracksuit bottoms that I wear with the above for the evening to covered the dimpled thighs.

Wow, re-reading the above I am amazed that I managed to ever concieve! Hardly alluring attire!

maisym · 12/03/2007 08:16

big t-shirts from when I was preg & pj's!!

noddyholder · 12/03/2007 08:18

Indian tunic things or french knickers and matching vests

Ah, yes, leakage is a hassle. I had it a bit with DS1. With DS2, my supply was much better, but I barely ever leaked. The muscles to keep the milk in get stronger, over time, apparently.

Nowt.

M&S and lots of other places now do 'lounge wear' type stuff where you can mix and match tops to bottoms, long/short/sleeves/trousers. I've got a few pairs for sloppy weekend wear.

I wear that "lounge wear" that SD has mentioned.

I always wait for M&S sales though. I normally get the stretchy tshirts and loose bottoms. Really comfy and look decent too.

Sounds as if most of us are not exactly alluring in the sleepwear department. Glad to know it's not just me.

Might take Sue's suggestion though and look for some comfy, presentable 'loungewear' tomorrow when I'm near a big M&S.
