ds is five and still gets up at about 3 in the morning, have now got to the point where i find myself waking up just before and waiting for him to put in an appearance

FrannyandZooey · 05/03/2007 22:05

My ds got gradually better and better until he started sleeping through most nights age about 3

issyissyissy · 05/03/2007 22:08

My ds is now 3.6 years and is much better than as a baby. He still wakes a few times a night but goes back to bed much easier than before. Also I have got used to it now and have adjusted my sleep to fit!!

MrsApron · 05/03/2007 22:10

yep went from hourly i think until she slept through at 19 months. did feck all to accomodate it coslept bf on demand the works.

princesscc · 05/03/2007 22:11

Are you saying he is sleepwalking at 3 in the morning? If so, is he distressed or just wandering?

morningpaper · 05/03/2007 22:12

18 months with dd1

dd2 is 17 months and is REALLY getting consistent at sleeping for long periods - often until the morning

roisin · 05/03/2007 22:15

DS1 improved massively once he moved into a bed c.18 months.

serenity · 05/03/2007 22:18

All three of mine were frequent wakers until about 18mths, when it gradually tailed off. Tbh after that age it ceased to be a real problem as I put them in beds, and they'd just get up and come into our bed of their own accord. Most of the time I wouldn't know they'd done it until I woke up with their feet in my back in the morning! DD is the worst, she's 3.4 and I wake up with her in my bed about 70% of the time. The boys had stopped by now. Like I said though, it's not a problem for us, we have a king size bed and she doesn't disturb us so I'll let it be for now

RedTartanLass · 05/03/2007 22:20

DS is 3 and I get about 2 nights a week uninterrupted sleep, so am watching this thread with interest.

BandofMothers · 05/03/2007 22:21

Aaaargh. DD1 was a great sleeper til a few mths ago. Admittedly we moved and I took her dummy away and had a baby, all in about 6 mths, but now she sometimes wakes 10 times a night and screams for me for no reason, ie she really doesn't need anything.Sob. Some nights she'll go all through, but some nights, I'm up and down.

cruisemum1 · 06/03/2007 07:57

oh crap! no hope being given here! .

No, not much hope it seems

LilyLoo · 06/03/2007 09:21

My DS was a nightmare sleeper until he was dry through the night at just over three . He will still get up in the night and go to the toilet but doesn't even bother us now and will get back in bed and go back to sleep straight away (Nearly five). Still early riser though!

dd goes through phases. now she is 3 and dry (ish) at night she is sleeping really well, sometimes we have to wake her up. now i have posted this she will wake up every hour for the next 5 years. hang in there.

cruisemum1 · 06/03/2007 09:58

icod/zog - what happened???

BandofMothers · 06/03/2007 10:28

Pesme. Lucky thing!!
Dd1 is dry in day, but her nappy is still so wet in the morning I think it'll be ages til she is at night.
Biggest nappies only just fit her, so just hoping she doesn't grow much until she is dry at night.

cruisemum1 · 07/03/2007 10:03

icod/zog?

My dds sleep habits regulated almost instantaneously when she started school. She wakes up around 6 now and comes in for a snuggle, but never in the night.

stleger · 07/03/2007 10:16

My dd2, little treasure, was still visiting some nights until last summer. (She is now 10). We got her a high up bed, so it is too much hassle to get out. Do I win, is she the oldest kid on the block?

cruisemum1 · 08/03/2007 17:52

you win! mine is only 6 mths

Can i crash in. Fist time back on MN since DD born 16 months ago and i remember a few names on the due in Oct 05!

Anyhow, my DD has been a terrible sleeper and has only done 12 hours about 5 times since she was born. Really tearing hair out as waking betweeen 3-5am having milk and coming in with us. Otherwise she'll scream till we give up. Do you think a bed is the answer, not giving milk and trying to settle her in her cot or just carry on and she'll eventually sleep???

BandofMothers · 08/03/2007 21:00

What time is she going to bed?
