standing up in grobag!

can someone give any advice, or direct me to relevant thread re my 8 month old ds standing in his grobag in his cot! i thought grobags were meant to prevent this...

he can't get back down so he stands and cries until we go and put him down by which time he is so wide awake that he gets apoplectic that we are leaving him...

luckily this is only happening in the (early early) morning so far, but i'm really dreading it becoming a regular feature at night...

we've tried to show him how to get down when he pulls himself up, but that seems to involve supporting him, so doesn't actually teach him how to do it himself...

any advice gratefully recieved, i've had enough of waking up between 5.45am and 6.30am and would like to go back to sleeping a little later thanks!

sophable - how big is his grobag? Has he got quite a lot of room to move in it? My dd learnt to stand up in her grobag at about 7 months but because she's quite dainty there was loads of room inside it for her to move her legs around and work out how to crouch down and sit again. I imagine that the less space there is inside, the harder it gets to sit down again IYKWIM.

I've never known where people get the idea that they can't stand in grobags, dd's been doing it since about 7 months, now 20 months. Can your ds get down from standing in the daytime when he's in his clothes? If so, then he'll quickly learn to do it in the grobag too. If not, then he'll need to learn to do it anyway which is pretty quick once they can pull up to standing.

DS 16m is walking around wearing one (it gets on my nerves as I'm just expecting for him to fall, and sometimes of course he does, he was also able to crawl wearing one.)
