Sleepyhead Grand

Hi there: DD2 sleeps great in her Sleepyhead (0-8 month one). She's nearly 9 months but small for her age so she's still in the little one but it's getting rather small now.

Do people rate the bigger one? How have your babies transitioned into the bigger one? I've tried getting her to sleep on her normal mattress but she screams. If she does fall asleep, she wakes continually so that's why I'm contemplating paying the £165.

I was put off by the grand not only due to cost but that it's so big it's impossible to take anywhere- holiday, grandparents etc so didn't want to become reliant on it. I took the cover off the small sleepyhead and put the sausage filling part under the sheet in her cot. It's flexible so there's much more space in it like this and the bottom part can be open ended. Works really well!

My dd sleeps amazingly in hers. We went through two months of terrible sleep, the sleepyhead grand transformed nightimes in two nights. I do think she got better with age too but it was money well spent for us. I am a little concerned how she will do without it at nursery but I guess she will get used to it eventually Confused

I tried to transition to the cot without it, but after several weeks of DD smashing her head off the cot bars and ends as she moved about and subsequently screwing her head off, I bought it in desperation.

She hated it when it first arrived, but we persevered. She's now over 2 and sleeps in odd positions, but she always has a sort of pillowy edge to rest her head on and it sorted out the accidental bumps problem. She also sleeps with a normal pillow in a bed at other times, so it hasn't caused problems that way. We've had our money's worth.

*screaming, not screwing. God, that would have been horrific.

I was a huge fan but as FATE says once they become so mobile it's a bit pointless! DD started to roll out of hers constantly and is happy on a mattress now as long as it's in my bed

How old is your dd forfucksake?

I weaned my LO off the sleepyhead by taking the pillow out of the cover and putting it under his fitted sheet in a horseshoe shape. So effectively it surrounded him the same as the sleepyhead but I could make it gradually wider and higher up in the cot, before eventually taking it out altogether.

Sorry bean sprout! She's one and a half!

Beansprout30 · 27/02/2017 19:57

Aha! Just wondered as my dd barely moves in her sleep but she's only 7 months so that could change!

forfucksakenet · 27/02/2017 22:09

Oh it will! Currently have a little foot in my face!
