Is it bad that baby doesn't self settle?

Just this really

Have 6 month old ds, we feed and rock him to sleep. If he wakes in the night I pat him back to sleep and then he wakes half 3 ish for a feed then anything from every 45 mins to sleeping till 7.30am.

Everyone tells me he should be able to get himself to sleep now but....he doesn't! Am I harming him by not sleep training? I still see him as my tiny baby (PFB Grin) and don't know if I want to sleep train him just yet!

He is still in our room as we only have one bedroom! We are moving soon although I think I will want him in with us until he is 1. I will bear in mind the sleepyhead, thanks. Although he has a poddlepod and isn't that keen. He is such a nap refuser in the day, he will sleep for 30 mins max at a time most days Confused I have knotted a muslin for a comfort blanket as he likes chewing on that. Thanks for all the tips!

HOw many naps does he have in the day? Sound a like he could be over tired

He has about 3 naps a day, I think he's definitely over tired but we try really hard to encourage him to have a long sleep in the day.

Last night was brilliant though and I can't work out what we did differently?! He went down at 8, up at half 3 for a feed then asleep till 6.15...I hope it's not fluke!!
