Hi everyone..

Please don't judge as I've had a few judgy people on here

My son is 15months and he doesn't sleep through the night, don't get me wrong he loves bedtime as he has his favourite blankets and his favourite mickey mouse film.. I say to him bedtime and he scarpers to the door to go to bed.

But he doesn't sleep through he will wake up anywhere from 1-5 times. I don't know where I'm going wrong and to me he has a pretty good routine

Screen time before bed is bad for anyone's sleep, baby or adult, and not the sort if habit you want to be stuck with. My ds used to be bf to sleep, every single night, and it took bloody ages and obviously I was the only one who could do it. He woke multiple times a night. In order to break the habit I started giving him milk at 1, and gradual withdrawal. It took a while, the first week was tough, up to 75 minutes of bending over the cot patting and singing etc (I did a very very gradual version) but after a few weeks I was sitting outside on the landing having put him.innthe cot awake, with a lightshow mobile thing to watch.

Have you tried replacing the dvd with a mobile? It might be tough to start but it's worth cracking the dvd habit now.

Definitely try and get rid of the DVD. A week won't be long enough to break a really set in habit like that. You've got to stick with it for a long time.

Swap the DVD for a CD/MP3. The screen will be doing all sorts of unhelpful things to his brain. You really need to ditch it.
