How do you put your baby back into a cosleeper?

We have a next2me which ds sleeps in for a few hours but after night feeds I he usually ends up next to me, which is fine but I wouldn't mind the odd night with him actually in the next2me.

I always read of people just rolling or pushing the baby into the cosleeper but the there is a height difference of 2 inches or so between my mattress and his and there's that hard bit.

What can I do to make the transfer easier? Should I have got a snuzpod?

How old is the baby? If under 3 months, swaddling makes transferring easier.

Is the crib lower than your bed? If so, could you just put a brick under the legs to raise the height? Or adjust the mattress height?

I used a full sized cot as a coslerper. Just removed one side using an allen key and butted it up to my bed. That meant I could lean right I to the cot to settle/feed.

If I did feed baby in my bed it would not be unusual that id fall asleep durinduring the feed, so would baby. Then I'd wake up an hour or two later and realise baby was still in bed with me. By that time baby would be fully fast-off so transferring into cot was easier.

I used to slide both arms under baby, so baby way under my forearms. Then use my arms like a conveyerbelt to "scoot" baby over into the cot. Dumny in usually helps settle and slight stirring and Bob's your Uncle.

We had the same issue with height difference, we ended up putting folded towels under the mattress in the cosleeper to bring it up to same height. I used shuffle up close when baby woke and do a lying down feed with her still in crib then do a stealth roll away when she was done...

Snuzpods are great because the height adjusts to your bed and you can roll a towel or blanket in the middle to cover the hard bit. Swaddling helps to keep them sleeping!

Like a ninja although from memory I spent most of the night in the snuzpod so it was often easier to have her in with me

Looking at it, there is no way it could be flush with any bed mattress.

My cot (on the top mattress setting) was the same height as my bed mattress. There was a gap between bed and cot though. I just shoved a rolled up towel to block the gap.

I found laying ds on a blanket helped, then I could pick him up hammock style using four cornets of the blanket, and swing him into his cot.
