Finally, by combining the NCSS and the woman who can't be named, DS nearly slept through.

He went from 7pm - 4am. He then took a watered down 6oz feed, and slept until 6.30am.

I have had sleep!

For all you ladies getting up today thinking there's no hope- it will happen eventually!!!

well done dg - i think your lo is about the same age as mine ?7mths. what are your tips? be interested to see which bits you used from ncss/swcbn

IntergalacticWalrus · 02/02/2007 08:19

Fabulous!!!!

TR, I have 21 months between mione, and was dreading it, to be quite honest, buit, to give you some hope, both DSs have slept brilliantly recently, espcially DS2 whop for some reason, has slept 10pm-9am every night since he was 8 weeks old.

There is hope.

Good luck, btw

Yes, he's almost 7 1/2 mths.

What i did was:

Make sure his evening meal was a mix of protein and carbs (no fruit except bananas, not enough calories)

Reduce milk at night with less in the bottle, then less powder too.

Still picked him up, and put him in his cot asleep aswell.

Didn't leave him crying.

When i went to him, i didn't speak (not even a shh) and didn't make eye contact with him either.

Gave him breakfast at 7am each day, and pushed his morning nap to past 9am.

I think that's everything...

Oh, and put him in a sleeping bag too, instead of blankets.

I feel like i could run a marathon today!

I think a sleeping bag was the major factor in getting DS1 to sleep through the night (eventually)

DG, congratulations! (from the world of the still-sleepless). Sooo happy for you, long may it continue

REIDnotREEDorREAD · 02/02/2007 09:46

i'm soooo jealous and pleased for you! my ds is 5.5 months old and has started waking at 5.30am each morning

DetentionGrrrl · 04/02/2007 09:35

oh bugger. It seems my joy was short lived- he has woken twice a night since. He was unusually wakeful last night- was up for almost 2hrs with him. Every time i got back into bed he started again. Grrr!

Shall have to make sure i am keeping to his routine and persevere with it.
