Early morning / night time waking and potty training

Ds is 2.3yo and is potty training. Going well, dry by day and starting to be dry at night. Trouble is, he is waking at 4am, with a dry nappy and needing to do a huge wee. Once he is up, out of his gro-bag etc etc, he just wants to be up. Not sure what to do. He was waking at 5am anyway, but this is a step too far. What can we do? Do the wee and then use a technique to get him back to sleep?

Would appreciate anyone's thoughts on this!

Have you thought about swapping the grobag for a duvet? It would make getting up and going for a wee easier and less things to do to get him back into bed. My ds has a std single duvet on his toddler bed but it is tucked under the end of the mattress to minimise slippage.

Our bedtime routine also includes 2 loo stops, one as he is changing into his pjs and then we ask if he wants another one just before lights out.

A friend always used to lift her son out of bed about 10pm and put him half asleep on the toilet, he would then wee, she would put him back to bed. She then moved the time forward gradually until she didn't need to do it any more.

That might be a good idea - a 10pm wee. I did a dream feed for months as that worked really well, so a "dream wee" might be a good one! I have hope at last! Thank you!!!
