Ah yes I remember the melatonin convo we have had now.. [head like seive.. sleep deprivation ] We have been offered it but not bothered, DS goes off ok.. but then wakes up on and off throughout. Lately taking to banging door persistantly for ever.. so we've taken door off!

ShinyHappyPeopleHoldingHands · 23/01/2007 12:01

Oh dear we should feck off away from this thread.. it's not really for the likes of us, lol

We should all just get on with it and Count Ourselves Lucky, ladies. OK?

[two hours sleep last night and ratty as fuck]

ShinyHappyPeopleHoldingHands · 23/01/2007 12:06

Noooooo Hunker.. didn't mean that... sleep deprivation is horible, I was driven crazy with it with DS1 who is NT. I could was virtually unable to string a sentence together and would slide down walls if I leaned against them for a second! This is the reason I said we should feck orf.. because it makes it look like we are saying other sleep deprived parents are moaning at nothing.

We're not.

popsycal · 23/01/2007 12:06

hunkermunker · 23/01/2007 12:16

Phew!

[leans in to give SJ and Fio a hug, falls asleep on way and lands on chin]

hunkermunker · 23/01/2007 12:16

Oh, Popsy!

popsycal · 23/01/2007 12:18

i know, i know
sorted him out the week before the clocks went back finally
then the clocks went back (f up 1) then he got bronchiolitis (f up 2) then a vomitting bug (f up 3) then a chest infection (f up 4)
that took us until christmas....all the while waiting for him to be well to Sort Him Out.
Then was going to do in on thurs last week and he was up all night vomitting - as we all were by the weekend.

so it is thursday THIS week
pray he is well!!

hunkermunker · 23/01/2007 12:25

[prays]

I really hope you crack it, Popsy. He can do it!

morningpaper · 23/01/2007 12:26

ahhh hello, 16 months and always wakes all evening and at least 3 times a night

cheers!

Tatties · 23/01/2007 12:34

lol Hunker at waking because Thomas the Tank has too many jobs to do! Ds is a big fan too and I'm sure he dreams about him...

It must've been a dream, yes, Tatties - DH told him that was why they had the Fat Controller and that Thomas liked doing jobs and was a Very Useful Engine

DS1 was comforted by this, and went straight back to sleep!

DetentionGrrrl · 23/01/2007 21:30

DS did once wake only once for a feed. And i was so paranoid i had to go look at him several times in the night to check he was ok.

Just when we get somewhere, he is teething / hasn't napped / wants to play at 3am.

And i HATE people asking if he sleeps through, then looking at me as though i must be useless when i say no.

DetentionGrrrl I too hate when people look at me when I say "she is a good baby, but doesn't sleep all night"
You would think I was the biggest failure on the planet, or I asked them to stick a fork in their eye My dh is always coming home from work telling me that yet another colleague has a child that sleeps all night & they are only 2 weeks old
We feel like the only 2 whos baby doesn't sleep all night. I know we are not

My dd2 has never slept through and she's nearly 3. My ds (16 months) sleeps like the proverbial baby and has to be woken up at about 10am otherwise he gets ratty! I have to admit that rather than be up all night with dd2, we just let her come into our bed, where she will settle and even when awake will not scream, thereby enabling us to sleep a bit. I know that this is making things worse, but can't face being up all night to keep her in her own room. Dh has to work and dd1 has to go to school so can't have the whole house disrupted by crying for hours (not to mention the neighbours!) Any suggestions?
