DD is 4 months - can rule out hunger as it is habitual waking, 4.30 on the dot 6 nights out of 7....plus when first thought it was hunger, tried to feed DD and she wasn't really fussed, just grinned like a loon. Will take a dummy and drift off again but now it's catching up with me as don't really sleep after that...has anyone tried wake to sleep?

errr what is it?

sounds weird, when a LO is waking bang on the same time every night you stir them a little while before that time, apparently they go back into a deeper sleep and after a few nights the habitual waking stops, I know people that have done it with older LO's but apparently works with younger babies as well, was wondering if anyone had done it?

justjam - I have heard of that technique but don't know of anyone who has applied it. Good luck!

Hi Justjam. We used this with DS when he was around 6mths. He was waking at 2.30 every night, didn't need feeding just couldn't get back off on his own.
We set our alarm for various times between 1.45 and 2.10, woke him to a drosy state then let him drift back off.
It worked very well to break the habit but we should have gone that step further and helped him learn to fall back asleep on his own. As it was, we didn't do that for another few months but at least the wake became unpredictable -Sometimes not til 5am!

It took about 4 or 5 days btw. Good luck!

drowsy not drosy

Oh and I think it's a Baby Whisperer thing for those who haven't heard of it.

Thanks homemama! good to hear it worked for you , I just need to have the confidence to try it now as I don't want a fully awake DD at 4 am!
