How do I get ds to nap on his own?

He's 8months. He has always been a crap napper and I have taken to feeding to sleep twice a day. Once the habit waw formed it was easy and I was happy he was sleeping. Now he is getting bigger neither of us are comfy enough with him on me and he wakes sooner. Yet he wakes if I put him down. He will sleep in a pram if we walk.

I would really like him to nap at home without giving me a dead arm and leg!

Has anyone managed this?

Not a chance Fluffy, I can at bedtime but not for naps. I can't even move without him waking now. (I used to be able to put him down on the bed, never the cot, but it's stopped working) 25 minutes. I'm at a loss. I actually can't imagine what it would be like for him to take two naps a day in his cot!

What we did was totally black out her windows so it was completely dark in her bedroom. Carry her to bed stroking back and singing same song each time. Then put down on her tummy in the cot. Leave her to cry as long as I could stand it. It was so awful, but we had horrendous sleep problems both night and day. It was hard for about 5 days. Now she often doesn't even cry at all when we put her down, just rolls over and snuggles down.

40 minutes. I almost got him resettled but not quite.

If it were me I'd just look at ways he can sleep on you more comfortably, dd still naps on me at 10 months. I'm lazy though! I also figure that it'll take me weeks to change her habits and she might have done it naturally in that time, as I said, I'm lazy
