co-sleeping with a crawler

hi,
i am looking for a bit of advice on how to co-sleep safely when my baby starts crawling. we have been co-sleeping on and off since birth, due to neccessity (or laziness on my part) as se was waking about 100 times a night and wouldn't take a bottle until 5 and a half months. she is now 6 and a half months old and will be crawling soon i think. while this might be the perfect time to put her in her own room/cot i am due to go back to work in 2 weeks and just don't want to risk her sleep going bananas again when i have to start back in a fairly challenging new job. i am worried though as she wakes up at least once from when i put her down for the night at 8.30, so how do i keep her safe if she's able to crawl?? we currently use a safety first mesh bed guard, which prevents her rolling out of bed. she sleeps in a sleeping bag, will this help?
thanks

We bought an 'Arms Reach Co-Sleeper' off ebay. It is like a travel cot that fits on to your bed. We start off with baby i her own cot and room and if I am too lazy to return her after a night time feed i slide her over. She can't crawl out without a bit of climbing so it works (so far!)

I bring DS into our bed and he's crawling (and now standing holding furniture) we're putting a gate on the landing so he can't get further than just outside bedroom door, and baby proofing the bedroom (socket covers, corner cushions etc) Our bed is very low anyway.

we used a Babydan Universal bed guard. similar to what you mentioned. nothing else. it keeps working. i found the more mobile dd got, the more 'aware' i became of where she was on the bed without it actually getting less sleep - i know that sounds wierd but you keep learning and adapting. my dd was walking by 10/11 months. the sleeeping bag should help. my dd wasn't in one.

I feed her to sleep in her own room and put her down in her cot. When she wakes up I take her into our bed. If I feed her in our bed she crawls all over the place. In the middle of the night she just wants to sleep and is pretty still. Lots of cushions & duvets on the floor in case of a tumble. 13 months & it's not ever happened.
