To dream feed or not......

10 week old dd is sleeping really well. She is asleep at 7 I have been trying to dreamfeed her between 10 and 11 she takes 2 or 3oz and then wakes at 3 I thought I would see what happens if I didn't dreamfeed and she still wakes at 3!!! Both times she goes back to sleep until 7.
Anyone been here and done this is it worth persevering with the df I hope she will ultimately drop the 3 am wake up or just forget it and ultimately hope she will be strong enough to go 7-7 soonish?!?

At 10 weeks if she is just doing a 3am feed she is doing amazing! I would drop the dreamfeed, you run the risk of her getting into a habit of eating at that time and waking properly for it! She is so tiny, I would just leave her to decide when to eat

I was in exactly the same situation Normski. We fed at 7pm, bed by 8 but was being woken up at 3/4 for another feed. Whilst this is great etc our DD wasn't settling v well after the mid night feed. I started a dream feed which didn't work straight away. My DD was in the habit of waking at that time however we have been doing it for just over a week now and it's working really well. She now wakes at around 7 or 8am. Sometimes a little earlier but never earlier than 5.30. I'd say stick with it. I was panicking thinking I was just adding another feed. Making no difference etc but it has worked. She takes 6oz in the day and around 3oz in the dream feed. I'll be reducing to 2oz in around a weeks time. You just need to break the 3am habit. Won't take too long Smile

A dream feed did nothing for either of my two. Some people swear by it though.

It sounds as though she's sleeping really well so I'd be tempted to drop the df and see how it goes.

I didn't like risking disturbing a sleeping baby and I'd be concerned about it becoming a habit when my goal was to try and night wean once they were eating plenty during the day.
