sleep problems in 15 wk old?

Oh there are so many of them....

Won't nap (when does for no longer than 30 mins. Grumpy when gets up but won't settle back down)

Now turned into a nightmare to settle at any time. Hands clawing face. Legs thrashing up and down. Almost asleep and then...........back to clawing face again.

I've tried earlier wind down, later wind down. No stimulation, tiring her out. Routines coming out my ear holes.

I suspect that she's over tired sometimes but she's started to wake half the night too so I've no idea how to get back on top of it all. I find myself spending most of the day trying to get her to sleep for even a short while

Has anyone got a magic cure?

She does settle slightly better (but by no means well) on her side (rolling her onto her back wakes her up) is it OK to sleep a 15 week old on her side?

My DS 13 weeks sleeps only on his tummy. Sleeps for england. You could try proping her with a rolled towell. Try day time first to see how she is with it.

Got to go as DS is stiring now!!

Agreed - try on the side, with a towel to stop her rolling either backwards or forwards. You can also try rocking her on her side, i.e. lie her down and just rock her back and forth.

You'll find another way that works for you eventually - unfortunately the little blighters do like to throw the rule book out every few months just to keep us on our toe!

Is she teething? My DS (17 wks) won't nap for long (although he never has!) and he sometimes won't settle because his gums are hurting. Does a lot of the same things, hands all over face, etc. If I use teething gel it does normally settle him during the night - but he's still going through quite a difficult time during the days!

Otherwise if sleeping on her side helps I'd go for it.

Thanks for all the advice. I did wonder about teeth too because she's had a pink cheek on and off for a while but when I mentioned it to the HV she was very dismissive as it was 'too early' and suggested I tried CC!

She's on her side.......

God love the HVs. One thing it definitely is too early for is CC! Can't comment on the teeth - my ds didn't cut a single one til about 14 months, which didn't stop him teething constantly from 4 months, I might add.

you must have my ds! hes 20 weeks and the same. to stop hand waving we swaddled, it also makes it easier to get him down and continue patting etc.
however ds is now getting out of the swaddle so were now back to scratch mits and unsettled sleep due to arm waving, scramming head/face, kicking and pulling dummy out.
we also have 30 min naps unless held and is still grumpy

isnt it all fun!

My friends ds had 4 teeth by 4 months so it may well be teeth. Has she had a nappy rash? Ds normally has a sore bum when he's teething.
