Hi Mums after some advice as me and DP really are loosing the plot now from tiredness!!!

From birth to 4 months DD was a very good sleeper (bottle fed) then at 4 months the dreaded sleep regression started and good sleep hasn't returned since!

DD is 1 in 3 weeks and if anything is worse than ever. She is teething and I think this is contributing but we just don't know what else to try to help her (and in turn us) get a better sleep.

During the day she naps well we have even taken to waking her up from her 2 naps as she can sleep so long...She goes to bed at about 7 after bath and bottle (sometimes give calpol if she's been showing signs of teething alot) and falls asleep perfectly by herself no problem, then at about 12 she moans and groans very loudly and this continues unless we give her milk..she does use a dummy but has had a sleepy tot for a long time and it works great so I don't think this is the issue. We have tried anbesol and teething powders but she hates them and gets very upset if I try and use them!! After twelve we then have waking again about 2/3 times sometimes crying every time we leave the room until she finally wakes up again half five!! I've tried CC which has worked wonders for her naps and going to bed initially but it hasn't had any impact on her sleep in the night...has anyone else experienced this or have any advice? It would be greatly appreciated from a very tired mummy

If she is wanting milk at night (and this isn't a sleep prop, since you said she doesn't need milk at bedtime to fall asleep) then it would suggest she is not getting enough milk during the daytime.

Is she getting the recommended 1 pint (21oz) of milk to drink during the daytime?

If she is already getting lots of daytime milk on top of her normal diet, then consider her fluid (ie water) intake - she could be thirsty at night.

Oh - and I would not limit daytime naps at all. With the exception of not letting her nap after 4pm (because this would affect her nights sleep), let her sleep as much as she needs to.
