Our ds didn't always sleep that well and he suffered with reflux. Think the unsettledness of the stomach etc stops them from being settled enough to sleep. We only used gaviscon which worked wonders. A friend of mine recently used infamil (I think that's what its called) with her son - its a special type of formula you can get on prescription that is thicker than normal formula and has some sort of gaviscon stuff in it already. It did wonders for them. Have a chat with your gp about it.

I've seen a lot of people on here say that gaviscon didn't work for their lo's, we were lucky that it did for us. Try also feeding little and often if possible as well as feeding as upright as you can. I hope things can calm down for you as I remember how hard reflux is to manage especially when you're not getting the much needed sleep you need.

my DDhad reflux and was a nightmare sleeper..she would wake about 6-8 times a night screaming in pain. WE raised her cot head so that she was not lying flat, she was prescribed enfamil AR formula by the hospital and it worked wonders for her.

sorry agree with the other tip aswell about little and often as the hospital told me I was better giving DD 2ozs whenever she would take it rather than a 4 or 5oz feed every 4hrs.

a medicine that goes by the name of omeprazole or losec and also one called domperidone.

but some books under one end of the cot to elevate it and when you feed him keep him bolt upright and keep him like this for 30 mins after. i put ds in the car seat after feeding him.

tried all the thickening milks which did nothing but cow and gate organic helped.

I used Losec, specially thickened 'anti-reflux' formula and always kept her bed raised. The thing that worked best for me was the formula. She never brought up milk again after taking it. In SA it's made by Infacare. Don't know what the equivalent is in the UK. Also don't put him down straight away after a feed. I didn't stretch to half an hour but 10 minutes seemed ok for us.
Good Luck.

My baby ahd very bad reflux for first 6 months of life and sleeping was hellish. Paediatrician prescribed Domperidone and raniditine but didn't really help. Eventually grew out of it when he could sit up but there are other drugs like lansoprazole which can help too. ALso had Enfamil which your GP can prescribe which was a help too - it has rice starch in which helps keep it down. We always used elevated mattress and always held him upright for 10-15 mins after feed. Ask for referral to specialist asap and don't suffer in silence. It does get better.
