Teething baby cried all night

Someone please tell me I'm not the only one who spent last night up with a very unhappy baby?
DD already cut her two bottom front teeth with minimal fuss, but the two top front ones seem to be really hurting her Sad she went to bed at 7:30pm as usual, but woke up crying every hour on the hour until 6am Sad I'm alternating doses of calpol and nurofen, using anbesol, letting her chew on cold cucumber and frozen watermelon....she's just so sad. And so tired. As are DH and I.
I feel like there's nothing more I can do to help her!

That's a lot of dosing up to be doing. If you are using max daily doses of both calpol and nurofen, and also using anbesol - and she is still distressed, then I would consider that something else is wrong.

That might be something as simple as sleep deprivation on your DDs part, with such poor quality sleep last night.

While teething isn't pleasant for the baby, there would be cause to worry if it creates a very high level of constant and prolonged distress like this. Especially so if previous teeth were cut with little fuss (with the exception of molars, which will be worse, but still not inconsolable).

Hopefully when she (and you) get some sleep today, things will get better Flowers

I think I'd get her checked by a doctor. I Would be reluctant to give so much medicine without checking for other causes such as an ear infection.

Thanks for your replies.
I'm taking her tomorrow - out of hours wouldn't give me an appointment today Angry
She does seem very tired today - clearly catching up from last night! But she doesn't seem to be in as much pain after doing a very rock-like poo! Maybe she had a tummy ache last night because she was struggling to go?! She's still been going at her cucumber like a mad thing today, but doesn't seem to be as distressed as yesterday. And I've been giving her extra fluids to see if that helps the poop situation. And I haven't given her any calpol or nurofen, just one lot of anbesol.
Hope she's feeling a bit better now, can't bear seeing her so upset!

Nurofen always made my kids constipated
