Getting baby to nap with a toddler there

I'm having a nightmare getting my 14 week old dd to nap. Up until the last couple of weeks she was still in the new born sleeps all of the time phase and it was fine but now she's really struggling. She has all of her naps in her bouncy chair when we're home. After an hour or so of awake time I pop her in the chair, dummy in, vibrate on, cover and bounce the chair. It is taking longer and longer for her to go to sleep which cuts her sleep short as she gets hungry. Also ds wakes her up. A lot. I've been told over and over that 2nd children will sleep through earthquakes......not mine.
Now, by 5.30-6 dd is an over tired, screaming baby. I've posted in Infant Feeding because she then won't feed in the evenings.
I'm at my wits endSad. I initially tried making everything really loud and just getting on with things but then she won't sleep at all. I can't even decide to go against the SIDS advice and put her in another room asI can't leave ds alone whilst I settle her. I've found myself inwardly cursing ds when he makes noiseSad..even when he's just laughingSad.I really don't know how to get her to sleep better in the day. Any advice would be much appreciated.

I have a 5 week old and almost 5 year old. I've just started putting dd2 to sleep in our room as she's become a lot more aware and struggling to sleep in her bouncy chair with everything going on.

Not sure if you can, but l stick the tv on for dd1 when settling dd2 as I'm up and down the stairs a lot!

But you have to decide if your happy having her in another room though.

A couple of ideas:

White noise maker near her to drown out the toddler noise.

Put her in another downstairs room so that she's close (and you can check her every 2mins if you want) but she's not right by the noise either.

Do something really active for the toddler before nap time, so that they are then happy to sit and do something more sedate (tv, stories, drawing) for the nap period.

Lastly, would your baby sleep better in a different position. My DC2 napped in the moses basket in the same room with me and toddler for ages. Because it was always in sight I didn't mind allowing tummy sleeping, which (for mine) meant a much deeper sleep.

Last resort - naps are out and about it the pushchair!
