Do I have the only 4yr old who sleeps 2.5 hrs in the afternoon and still goes to bed at 7.30pm?

Probably, yes!

Mind, my 4yo is at school so sleeping in afternoon wouldn't be great right now. I don't think DD napped in afternoon since not long after turning 2 though - I mourned nap time for a good while after.

If I wasn't such a lovely reindeer I'd probably say something along the lines of "goany goan bile yer heid" which is Scottish for F off.

wow - I wish I did ! My nearly 4 year old twins are currently wearing my ears out - I dream of them (or me ) being asleep

Piffle · 04/12/2006 14:09

she is just 4 she is due for school sept 07, hmmm she needs so much sleep it seems.
Great for me being pregnant and all.
What's the bet she stops just as baby is born?

I'm 33 and I'd still sleep for 2 hours in the afternoon given half a chance and I'd still go to be at 7.30pm if someone took care of everything else .

Seriously, I was a sleepy 4yr old and still napped up til I started school (ages with your DD) and went to bed about the same time.

My mum says I would come out of school and just lie on the couch for a while watching any old thing on the telly to recharge.

God Xmas Envy

ds isn't 3 yet, the nap is long gone and he goes to bed at 9 if I'm not careful - and he's a good sleeper if anything

having said that, he doesn't get up these days until 7.45am.

DD1 went to sleep in the afternoons when she started in reception at 4 (luckily she only did 1/2 days for the first term)
By the time she was 4.5 she coped at school all day (but I had to give her tea at 4.30 to keep her awake).

She is now 7 and rarely goes to sleep before 10pm Enjoy it while it lasts.

My two always had a set bedtime of 7 pm - moving on to 7.30. And they had their midday nap, which carried on at weekends even after they had started school.

I didn't discourage it!
